This is my first time having a blog, so bear with me while I am learning how to do it.

Today is Day #1 of my "Lifestyle Change." No Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins, just plain ole' counting calories.  The MyFitnessPal app is where I'm logging everything I eat & drink.

I was shocked at how many of you contacted me via FaceBook about wanting to be a part of this blog. I'll probably change the name of it, as this is not MY journey, it's quite a few of our journey's to end obesity for ourselves, exercise, & to help others.

A little bit about me...

I've been gaining weight for about 5-6 years.  I've gone to Weight Watchers (and quit), started the Atkins (and quit), and counted calories (and quit).  When I was counting calories, I lost more weight than with the other plans. On weekends & holidays, I usually don't eat until mid to late afternoon, thus starving my body.  Working 2 (sometimes 3) jobs at a time has helped me financially. I am a homeowner & we all know how much everything costs these days.  However, it's more important to me now to be healthy & spend time with my family & friends.

It's a proven fact that having support while losing weight highly increases your chances of success!  I really need your help!! I'm NOT stopping this time & a year from today, I'm going to post a picture of me in a bikini (holy crap, can't believe I'm saying that).  I even have a friend coming to my house on Wednesday evening to take a picture of me & will be doing so every two months until I get back to the size I want am going to be.  Here are a couple of pictures of when I was healthy & how I look now.  Can't wait to look that way again. Feel free to do the same!

TOPIC OF THE DAY: What is your goal?

If you don't have one, please encourage those of us who do on how you keep yourself healthy!

Here's mine... I WILL be a size 8 or 10 within twelve months.  During this time, I am going to enjoy the process.

Request: Please don't post this blog on Facebook. It's not for everyone to see.

  1. I am so proud of you Jennifer. My goal is to get down to 250. My highest was 315. I want to lose weight to ease the pain this extra weight is causing. I want to look better for my husband and have energy for my boys. I know we can both achieve our goals. I am with you every step of the way.

  7. Today I got a card in the mail from Sue, which was totally unexpected & made my day--THANK YOU SUE!!! It's been a rough week for me with a lot of temptations, most of which I said no to. My coach told me after 30 days, it would get easier & I'm looking forward to it!! Deciding what to make last minute is NOT good for me, so I have a meal plan for the next week. If you have one, what's yours? Also, thanks to Johnna for e-mailing me the recipes. Happy Friday to everyone! Going to spend some time & reflect/pray about all of the blessings God has given me.
